I'll be honest—seeing an email like this never gets old.

This week, I found out that Sheldon James Photography has once again been recognized by ThreeBestRated® as one of the Top 3 Wedding Photographers in Dayton, Ohio for 2026.

When I first started this business over 13 years ago, I wasn't thinking about awards or rankings. I simply loved photography and wanted to create images that meant something. Over time, that passion grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

What's most meaningful about this recognition isn't the title itself; it's what it represents.

It represents every couple who trusted me with one of the biggest days of their lives.

It represents every family that welcomed me in like I was one of their own.

It represents the referrals, the kind reviews, the encouraging messages, and the friendships that have come from doing something I genuinely love.

I know there are so many incredibly talented photographers here in the Dayton area. To even be mentioned alongside them is something I don't take for granted.

Photography has taken me to places I never expected, introduced me to people I'll never forget, and given me the opportunity to witness some of life's happiest moments. That's something I'll always be thankful for.
